From interpreter to celebrant
Born in Linz in 1961 and raised in Upper Austria, I first spent a year and a half in Los Angeles after school before studying English and Russian at the Institute of Interpreting in Vienna – later also Slavic and Oriental studies. For my studies I also lived in Istanbul twice for several months.
Since 1988 I have been firmly rooted in my home village of Leopoldsdorf im Marchfeld in Lower Austria. For more than 29 years I have lived at the side of my great love Karl – and I am very proud of our son Silvio.
Professionally I have been many things: interpreter, translator, export businesswoman, German teacher, OSCE election observer and, for many years, head of the Information Centre for the South Caucasus and Central Asia of the Austrian Orient Society. My main profession for over 22 years: tour guide in Austria and tour director all over the world.
Since December 2020 I have been a certified celebrant – uniting my many passions: speaking, people, languages and life's most beautiful moments.
Qualifications you can rely on
Certification
Training and certification as a celebrant (December 2020) – plus rhetoric courses and NLP training.
5 languages
Ceremonies in English and German, bilingual also with Russian, Portuguese or Turkish – thanks to my interpreting degree.
Stage experience
As a long-time moderator of symposia and conferences at the Diplomatic Academy, and as a tour guide, I speak freely in front of groups every day.
Empathy
Whether celebration or farewell: I listen, take my time and find the words that fit you and your story.
And who am I otherwise?
I have largely turned my hobbies into my profession: speaking, travelling, foreign cultures, languages and people. What could be better than work that is not a burden but a joy?
And as if that weren't enough: my newest great passion is pole dance! This athletic sport keeps me mentally and physically fit – but stays strictly my private pleasure. 😉
For your ceremony, by the way, I am adaptable: from an elegant evening gown to a traditional dirndl to an extravagant outfit for your themed wedding – I adapt to your celebration.
